my ipod touch is disabled due to forgotten passcode. never had find my iphone or used icloud. how do i get it restored itunes wont let me restore it?

If iTunes is telling you to enter to passcode or turn off Find My iPhone in order to restore it, you'll have to force it into recovery mode in order to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.
