Q: i've got a **** of a lot kernel panics

since i have 10.9.2. The whole OS is running like a egg. first my bootsector was compromised with a broken file so my macbook didn't woke up. I checked my harddrive, repair the file and the harddrive and its fine. Next weird thing is, sometimes the appstore didn't work. Its just ignoring me. weirdest kernel panic was just a blinking and my mac asked me for login and started again. no boot.  now i receive every day kernel panics. randomly.

MB pro 15" 2011 3rd generation. running with a SSD which isn't brocken.

My hardware is fine as far i can check it. but of course i didn't understand the long list. So i know how important SSL is and i really don't like to say this but i'm not sure about older Macbooks and mavericks 10.9.2. May its a good idea to wait a bit. for me its a slightly stressful situation if my working machine is not responsible i need my old lady. She is fine. May some other ideas what i can do?

does, cleanup my sdd make a fresh installation help in kernel panic situations?

what i know, a kernel panicing machine is a very stressful situation for the whole hardware.

You've got the wrong spec'd RAM installed. Reinstall the old RAM and return that RAM for the correct specs.

This is what you need for that Mac: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/8566DDR3S8GP/

New OS. Mavericks uses RAM differently than previous OS's. Using faster RAM in a Mac has never been advisable. Apple's hardware seems to like RAM that is spec'd exactly as it was built.

Mac's also like good RAM as it is used to its limits. If it is discount RAM, it will likely fail at some point if it has errors on the fringe.

sorry but my macbook was running smooth and well with mavericks. i didn't bought the cheapest crap on earth and i'm nerdy enough to see it's not the RAM.

it was the power management. And mavericks fried the chip.

Thanks apple. Thanks for killing my old macbook. I'll find anouther old macbook and replace the chip.

the problem was based in the Boot POST sequence and my mac couldn't find the battery status anymore (battery is working and new, charger is also new) so because the Boot sequence couldn't get this information it took so many time to boot and some processes asking for a battery status.

result, weird acting macbook. and because the important hardware was fine it is still running sometimes.

Lets see how i can save her.

you, have no idea what you are talking about. just the update was a bad idea. mavericks itself is running fine with my RAM. and i can proof this with 4 gig original macbook ram.

Maybe it was your bad RAM that caused the chip to fry.

Boot into Safe Mode and see what happens.

If you don't get kernel panics, it is likely the Logitech drivers. If you still get kernel panics it is a hardware problem.

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem with my mid 2013 Macbook Air. Every night my computer suffers a kernel panic and restarts in the middle of the night. Usually is does a backup every nigh, but since I installed 10.9.2, every morning I find it asking me user and password.

It would be better if you created your own thread and post one of the panic logs as m_arylou has done. At the top of this page is a link labeled, "New". Click that and ask your question and copy/paste in a panic log.

same to me. it must be 1.9.2

if you run your mac too long. it will reboot
