Activation problem after restoring to 7.0.6. help

i have an iPad 2 wifi+3g that working fine on ios 7.0.4 and previous version of ios.

last night i tried to update (restore) my iPad to 7.0.6 using iTunes.

im using MacBook Pro (OSX Lion) and iTunes 11.1.4, the latest iTunes version at that time.

restoring process goes smoothly. no error message was given by iTunes.

im trying to complete the set up on my iPad and the problem occured after Choose a Wi-Fi Network screen.

i had selecedt my wifi network and key in the right password.

after that the setup process hang at a page that says "Replacement Needed".

What i did wrong?

i had tried to restore my iPad 2 on Windows 8 using latest version of iTunes that came out today, 11.1.5.5.

alas, im still stuck on the same screen.

Pls help me. my iPad was working fine on the previous ios version 😕

same issue with me exactly - spoke to apple rep who was awesome. Sent ipad logs to an engineer - they found a server error and corrected it - said it should ahve fixed this issue but no luck

I asked them to check again: "They took a look again and said the device was listed as none rather than unlocked, that was the only error. They are recommending restoring with a different computer because they cannot see anything else."

tried this and no luck

tried with sim, without sim, wifi only

can't wait until a real resolution is found....

good news folks... 🙂
3 weeks ago i had this problem & already contacting Apple...
they said this issue is under investigation.

every week, i switch on my iPad 2 hoping the activation can go thru...
and last night i tried to activate it & the problem is no more.
maybe Apple already fix the activation server problem... 😉

OK I hve just had my iPad2 restored and backed up to perfect after a couple weeks of this mess.

Major thanks to Rose in Apple Support 2nd tier senior superstar for sticking with this issue to resolve

It worked for me today after doing this 10-15 times previous - I beleive some server settings were adjusted and ow we are good to go!

to fix:

1. delete the ipsw file from ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates

2. put the device into recovery mode by powering it off with the plug in the device, hold the home button while plugging into the computer.

3. unplug the device while the download is coming down unless its less than 5 min.

4. put the device in recovery mode again

5. restore the device
