Q: I purchased a song from Itunes and made it background music in a GoPro video I made.  Facebook claims that it is copyright infringment.  Is this true?  If so, what do I need to do to fix it?

I need to figure out how to use purchased ITunes music as background music in a home video without it being considered copyright infringment.  Thank you for any help!

The first thing is you need to understand is what you get when you pay money to iTunes and download some music. You have purchased from Apple and the Artist the right to play that music. That's it. To sync it to video is not included and is an infringement of their rights.

So, how do you put music to videos?

    - You compose and generate your own using GarageBand, Logic, SoundtrackPro, etc

    - Hire a band to play an original composition where they give/sell you the sync rights.

    - You purchase "rights free" music from one of the many companies that offer it

    - You don't post to a public site

    Best,
