Re-installing Logic Express v9.0

My CD is broken and my hard drive has recently been erased. My version of Logic Express 9 was purchased along with my laptop for me as a gift. I would like to re-install Logic Express onto my laptop without having to re-purchase the software. Is this possible?

You may need to contact Apple Support for a replacement disc for LE9. Or visit your local Apple store. Have your serial number, purchase date, etc., handy.

IF you are able to get a replacement disc or have the Apple Store reinstall it with your serial number you will have to immediately update it to version 9.1.8 in order to use it in Mavericks.

As an alternative, you may want to install the new GarageBand via the App Store. It's free and is for all intents and purposes "Logic Express X" since it is basically a light version of Logic Pro X.
