Aperature 3.0

I am currently running OSX 10.7.5 on my Mac Pro1,1, so i can not upgrade my OS any further. I had Aperature 1.5.6 but it cant open with my OS, i purchased Aperature 3.0 upgradedisc from Amazon to remedy the problem but the upgrade disc needs my original serial number which i dont have anymore. How do i use the upgrade disc without it? or is there another way around? Help!!

I would return the CD to Amazon and ask for a refund, and then buy Aperture from the Mac App Store.

William, that is a good plan, but will Billy III be able to buy Aperture from the AppStore? The current version requires Mavericks and he is on Lion.

Afaik, getting the MacPro 1.1 to run Mavericks is not supported by Apple, or do you know a safe work-aroud?

. In addition to that i cant find any of the info needed to aquire a temp serial number for my aperature 1.

Then there is not much hope, that apple will supply a replacement serial number.

If you could get Aperture 1 to run on your system again from an old backup from the time when it was registered and running on your mac, aperture 1 would porbably tell you the serial number in the "About" panel. You wuld need a full backup of the snowleopard version, best a bootable clone.

Then return the Aperture 3 upgrade to Amazon and change it to a full version. But, as William Lloyd said, that is very expensive compared to the full version sold now at the AppStore. It would be more economical to save the money for a new Mac.
