Can you buy a longer charging cord for the ipad

I use my ipad all the time and it frequently needs recharging before the end of the day. The cord that came with it is so short, I'd have to sit on the floor to use it when it's charging. I bought a longer cord at an apple store here. It's not actually Apple. I can't remember the name but it only sells Apple products. It worked for a while and then quit. I took,it back and they gave me a new one. Now that one has quit. They say they know about the problem and they will give me my money back. But I would really like a longer cord that actually works. Is there anything reliable out there?

I totally agree with Diavonex on this one.

There is no reason whatsoever why you cannot use a conventional household extension cord. I have been using a $7.00 white 8' extension cord with my iPad since I bought the iPad original model over 3-1/2 years ago. My devices charge just fine and I didn't spend anywhere near the money that the longer Apple cord costs.

Well, thanks a lot. I wondered about an extension cord. I will definitely use one because I probably have one kicking around here somewhere so I don't need to spend any money on one and it will also likely be longer than one I could buy from Apple for more money!

It's better to use a power extension cord; no loss in charging current.

A loner charging cord will take longer to charge iPad.

Apple makes and sells a 2 meter (6 ft) long lightning to USB cord. I use it all the time with my iPhone and iPad air. No problems charging and I've had it for almost 6 months.

You can also get a USB extension cable and that will work. All pins are carried in the USB extension cable.

For what my opinion counts, I agree with Diavonex and Demo. There are too many other things you need to spend money on.

I like the Monoprice cables. A 6ft cable is 12 dollars and some change plus about 3 dollars for shipping. Sturdy, attractive and mfi certified. I've been using one to charge my iPad for over year
