I am completely new to iTunes & iPod, and am having serious trouble just trying to figure out the basics. I believe that either something is wrong with my USB port or something may be wrong with the iPod Nano, but cannot say for sure. Ultimately, I need to know what/where is the Source List on iTunes. I have the most recent version of iTunes downloaded & installed.

Prior to iTunes 12 the sources list used to appear above all other playlists in the sidebar. The sidebar could be turned on or off with Ctrl+S. The source list is now a row of icons. Press the ellipsis button (highlighted) then use the checkboxes to show or hide sources. Press the Playlists button when viewing a source to display the playlists sidebar.

If it's not currently showing to the left of your iTunes screen, use the Ctrl-S keyboard shortcut to show the source list.
ctrl S on the keyboard does not pull up the source list on iTunes.
Where is the "source list" within iTunes?
