Stuck on "Ipod Diagnostics"

HELP!!! I'm new to all this,but my ipod (Nano 4GB) is stuck on a dimmed screen that is titled "Ipod Diagnostics" followed by SVC Aug 17 2005 and then a long list of terms.I have tried charging it with the adapter and the computer and is still frozen on this screen.What should I do?

You need to reset your iPod by holding down Menu+Select for 6-10 seconds. See this for more information...
Reset iPod

It may take multiple attempts. If the iPod still won't reset, try the "tips" in the above article.

No Problem!

Diagnostic Mode is not really a problem. Certain keystrokes (resetting the iPod and then holding down select+reverse) make the iPod enter Diagnostic Mode. If your iPod is in Diagnostic Mode, those buttons may have accidentally been pressed while it was in your pocket or something similar.

Thanks so much!I'm up and running.Is there a reason for my problem or something I can do to keep this from happening again?
