reminders not showing the repeat option

I am migrating from PC to Mac.

And I am trying to set up a new reminder.

There is an option to set a recurring reminder but, it appears dimmed.

Can someone help?

I have Maverick on a Macbook air

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
