FaceTime virtual backgrounds

Why don't Apple or any 3rd Party provide a virtual background solution for FaceTime on all the platforms?

With hundreds of millions of FaceTime users, the number of us that use FaceTime for work is huge. Many of us travel and access clients from home, hotel rooms, cars and coffee shops. Many times we can't control what is in the background. With all the creativity at Apple and the development community, this problem and common request, has gone unaddressed for more than 4 years.

Please provide a solution to this common request. Many companies use FaceTime and might like to have their corporate logo or image of choice for their employees who provide customer support via FaceTime.

I like the idea but how would the camera distinguish between front and background. On TV they film in front of a blank screen then merge the images. Still you need to contact Apple directly if you want them to hear you.

I hope Apple. Responds. I realize there are issues, they clearly would know how to address them. could be as simple as select an image from iPhoto to use as background. they will be able to address this. The more people who respond favourably agreeing the need, will get their attention. thanks

Apple will not respond to this thread if that is what you mean. Also, you should submit your feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ (it will not respond to you directly either, but it is more likely to get in front of product analysts).

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this to happen, if I were you. The cost and complexity of this as a feature far exceeds the actual demand.
