I need to free up space on my MacBook Air and most of the space is taken with photos in iPhoto. Where can I easily store (and access) those photos so I continue to have them, but relieve space on my MacBook?

I regularly back up onto Time Machine. How do I go about freeing up the space in iPhoto? What do I do with the iPhoto library?
Remember to empty the trash from iPhoto - if you've never done so before.
Read this you'll want yet another external drive.. it doesn't have to be as big as your SSD - but check the size of your iPhoto library and if you do a lot of photography you'll maybe know you'll need two or three times that size to start.
