Broken fan on MacBook 2006

I have a MacBook from 2006 which has served me very well until now. Some days ago it started to make weird noises when watching videos. A friend of mine told me that it probably has to do with a broken fan. Would it make sense to replace it? Or should I consider buying a new laptop?

Well.....it COULd be the fan, but that video leaves a lot to be desired. Without proper diagnosis you could just be throwing money at parts until you finally get it right. You might consider taking it to the nearest Apple Store for a diagnostic, it shouldn't cost anything and then you can decide how you want to proceed. There are pretty good guides at iFixIt if you decide yo tackle it yourself http://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook
