Even after a reset, data has not been erased?
Even after a reset, when you enter messages and start to type a letter, the iPhone has data saved of your previous phone numbers - i.e. this data has not been erased?
How did you do the 'reset'?

settings > general > reset
and the 'lost iphone > find my phone > erase all data'
it seems as though the last contacted contacts dont get erased, you have to individually delete them
