My apple ID on my iPad doesn't match my online apple ID. I can keep resetting the apple ID but can't access or change the ID on the device.

I cannot figure out the ID for my iPad. It does not even have my correct birthdate. But my apple ID is fine. I can access it, reset it, etc. the problem is that I can't do any downloads or updates on my iPad. How do I delete my iPad ID and make it the same as my apple ID?

If you tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (or at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) then you should be able to log out of it and you can then sign back in.

Two Years and STILL RELEVANT. Thank You and Thank You some more! (Where is the Like button?) Simple. Sweet. And problem solved immediately.


p.s. I would have never known about the "wrong" email/apple ID (and why so much trouble trying to reset) if I had not by chance seen the AppStore ID show up on my iphone as a partial email. Once I submitted the "wrong" ID using my windows pc, I was able to update.

KPenguin's answer took care of the missing link and now I can download apps to my phone!🙂
