When using wired connection, this type of network is called a roaming network.

Mar 2, 2014 5:36 AM in response to MJPedro2014by Bob Timmons,There is no signal loss in a wire up to 330+ feet or 100 meters, so the extending device receives full network bandwidth with no reduction in speed.....IF......you use an Ethernet cable to connect the Time Capsule and other device.
Keep in mind that if you want to extend "ac" signals, you will need a new AirPort Extreme 802.11ac or another Time Capsule 802.11ac to match the performance of your new Time Capsule.
