Bootcamp 5 and Mavericks

Hi, I've heard by several people that Bootcamp 5 stops working when you upgrade to OS 10.9, which is why I'm still using 10.8.5

However, with apples most recent security breach, I have to upgrade to 10.9 if I don't want to risk having all of my information stolen.

At the same time, I cannot sacrifice Bootcamp 5, because I use it for a lot of work / school related programs and activities.

Is there any way I can get around all of this?

I'm running Windows 8 on Bootcamp 5, not Windows 7, if it makes any difference.

If no partition re-sizing has taken place since the Bootcamp partition was originally created then upgrading shouldn't cause any problems.

If you have resized or created/deleted any partitions since Bootcamp then you will likely have problems when upgrading.

Having said that you could always make backups first to ensure safety.

If you HAVE to upgrade, then you don't have a choice, do you? Download all your windows app installers and backup your files to be prepared in case the worst case comes true and you have to reinstall Windows. Or, look at it as a reason to house clean and clean install both OSX and windows.
