Kernal_task sucking up available ram

I have a late 2013 15" MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM that came with Mavericks installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. For only the past week, I have been getting Application Ram out of Memory. When I open Activity Monitor, either Firefox or Kernal_task are using 90% of the RAM. Either Firefox is sucking up 10 GB of RAM or kernal_task is sucking up 10 GB of RAM. I ran Linc Davis's Diagnostic test and Below are my results...
