Brand new iPhone 5s dead, black won't come on after ios update...is fully charged, was working fine till said yes to upgrade. Did not watch process beyond seeing Apple logo appear, left it alone, came back, dead. Tried holding top button, tried home button, nothing...HELP!!!

open itunes, button device ON about 3 seconds, after that button HOME about 10 seconds and plug the cable, after the 10 seconds release the button ON
Itunes open..ON 3 seconds alone, without releasing the button press the home and wait more 10 seconds(plug the cable witouth releasing any button).. release the button ON and still one the button home until you ear the sound on the PC and wait the itunes restore open.

If it's brand new and not working, take it back to whatever store it was purchased from for a replacement or refund.
If is a software problem you have the solution, its very easy.

What about restoring from iTunes like Braulio00 suggests?
I bought from TMobile should I go there if iTunes restore does not work?
If is software problem you dont need to lost your time, its hardware problem the only solution is the store.
Ok. Sure hope iTunes does the trick, won't be able to get to store for a few days, big snowstorm coming.

But did you try holding BOTH the HOME button and the SLEEP button AT THE SAME TIME? For a long time (10-30 seconds) or until an Apple logo appears?
Yes, I did. Held Home and Sleep down for 30 sec. Nothing.
power 3 seconds, after 3 seconds + home for 10 seconds, release power and still with home from about 10 seconds, release when you ear the bip on the PC with itunes open. plug de cable when you press home.

I had this same problem Friday morning, woke up and my phone was stuck on the apple logo. If it got past that the screen would just go red. It was like that all day until i was able to go to the apple store and get a new phone, they said it was probably a system error.
