I have a few 100MB and 250 MB Zip Disks that I need to backup. They won't mount on my intel Mac Pro (10.8) or Macbook Pro (10.8). Disk Utility recognizes the disks but won't mount them. No data recovery software will work. I know these disks are outdated, but any suggestions on a workaround? I've actually thought about buying an old mac G4 with internal Zip drive.

All of the support articles with Zip Drive in them seem to point to the G4. G4/867 or better could still run 10.5, but 10.6 switched to Intel-only (with Rosetta emulation for PowerPC-only Applications).
I a purchased Iomega 250MB Zip Host-Powered External Drive - USB and Parallel
by Iomega from Amazon and have had success reading numerous 100MB and 250MB Iomega and other brand disks. My mac is an early 2008 Mac Pro running 10.9.1 currently. The company that supplied the disk drive (to Amazon) was Comet Systems.
