Getting "You are not authorized to view this page"

This is the error message I get when trying to open: http://studentportal.vbschools.com/teacherinfo/default.aspx

I should be getting a login window. I can open in IE but not in Safari. I need to work with several of our studentportal sites at home. Suggestions?

My other companions using Macs don't have this problem but they are using a new machine.

I'm having the sames problem in a completely unrelated site. I'm not even getting the login window that you would expect with site secures with IIS.

I've tried resetting safari, but no luck. The issue is that until I accidentaly entered an incorrect password in the login screen it worked fine. Having entered an incorrect password the screen now doesn't even appear. 😟

If anyone knows why it would really help.

Thanks
Craig

Hi Deborah,

On Safari 1.3.2 Panther, on my fp bubble computer I the same you have posted on your first post.

On Tiger 2.0.4 I get the drop down message log in item you should get.

Sorry this is not much help other then to say it is not just your computer/ system only.
It seems it is the version of Safari we are on as Marty said.
Perhaps you should try Camino or Firefox as he & Andy suggested.

Have you tried with the debug menu enabled as Andy recommended you try?

Good luck. I hope you get it sorted out.

Hi Craigwoos & Welcome to Apple discussions: )

If you use Auto fill -> Safari preferences-> Security tab->
Name and passwords, or any other boxes you have checked
there, click the Edit button, find the site and delete the item.

Same in Key Chains find the site amd delete the internet password.

Hope this helps some.
