Iphone 5 won't turn on. get apple logo only

Purchased Iphone5 and it crashed after 12 and 1/2 months.I brought it to Apple store, but they could not fix it and recommneded to replace it at a cost since since this happend after one year of manifacture warranty!!! good timing, I suspected the issue is related to the battery, but I was wrong. I belive the issue has to do with iphone board which can't be fixed!!! Could the board fail after 12 and 1/2 months? is this considered product defect which could affect all the Iphone series made during the same period/location? Do I have a case to get a new phone at no cost? Suggest please! thanks

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.6

Any electrical component can fail at any time. It's not likely but it's more than possible.

I've had my iPhone 5 for just over a year and it's not failed. I know others who have the same model for a similar amount of time and they've not failed either. Then again I know some iPhone 5S owners who've owned theirs for only a few months and they have failed. None of this in my opinion means these are product defects.
