Read here what it does before you do.

Mar 1, 2014 4:40 PM in response to fromsouthby ArinS,Something that helped is to turn off Documents and Data. Now when I wait at the Keyboard settings I see that the settings freeze and after awhile my shortcuts come back.
I'm afraid that if I turn on Documents and Data the shortcuts will disappear.
I'd like to avoid deleting all settings if possible.
Are there any other suggestions you can give me?

Mar 2, 2014 12:25 PM in response to fromsouthby ArinS,★HelpfulFinally I did this and no luck.
I have removed iCloud from the device and now the shortcuts are appearing and disappearing. How can I completely remove them and start fresh? Is wiping the phone the only solution?

Mar 2, 2014 2:44 PM in response to ArinSby fromsouth,I do not know what to say since wiping the phone was never offered by me, so I am going to apologize and leave.

Mar 2, 2014 4:01 PM in response to fromsouthby ArinS,You might have misunderstood. That's not what I've done. I'm just trying to find the right approach here.
What's really surprising is that these shortcuts were working no problem for 3 months.
If anybody else is reading this, currently I'm deleting the shortcuts one-by-one even though they're each taking a minute to process.
I'll update here on the success of that.

Mar 13, 2014 4:18 AM in response to ArinSby w.oliver.s,Same situation here. First shortcuts wouldn't update nicely across 2 iphones/iPad and OSX, sometimes freeze briefly and now finally they're all gone.
I can't even add new ones.
Tried "Reset all Settings", to no avail.
Turning off "Document ..." in iCloud Settings results in showing me an old status of the shortcuts, but obviously I'm not not syncing then.
Swithing "Documents..." back on, removes all previous shurtcuts and I again can't add new ones, let alone that it would show me the ones stored in the iCloud.
OSX is the only system now properly showing what shortcuts are in fact store in the cloud.

Mar 16, 2014 7:23 AM in response to w.oliver.sby ArinS,Just a question here. Do you by any chance have shortcuts in any other languages other than English? I have some Turkish shortcuts in there.
-
Mar 17, 2014 6:57 AM in response to ArinSby w.oliver.s,Yes, I do use various shortcuts including text in different languages. But that shouldn't and hasn't been any issue in the past.
The issues started with iOS7.1 (and /or using Mac OSX) - resulting now in a situation where my two phone can share again the same set of shortcuts, but not with the iPad or OSX.
Even though I reset the iPad, removed the iCloud account/link, toggled the Document sync etc. nothing seems to fix the iPad and Macbook, instead they appear to have their own set of iClound shortcuts!
Very frustarting.

Mar 29, 2014 1:10 AM in response to w.oliver.sby w.oliver.s,Ok, good news, here is a solution that works!!
This I have tested individually (to confim) with my 2 iphones and the iPad that wouldn't sync properly keyboard shortcuts via iCloud. You can do the below for all your device at once, too.
- Go here and follow the instructions (easy): http://allezxandre.clarify-it.com/d/dhvzkz
if you backup and restore via the above method, none of your settings/apps will be deleted, everything stays intact - After restoring, turn off "Documents and Data" under your iCloud settings and hard reset devices (home + lock)
- Then log into icloud.com, go to Account Settings, Advanced, click on Reset Documents and Data
- Turn on "Documents and Data" in your iCloud Settings (device) and again reboot
- Check "Documents and Data" setting, status may have changed (on/off)
You may have to repeat 4. and 5. - I had to with one of the iPhone as the status would have a mind of it's own, but eventually the keyboard shortcuts will be back. On all devices.
The above takes roughly an hour with all the backups, restores etc. BUT it's non intrusive, ie. your device data and settings aren't touched!

Mar 29, 2014 7:06 AM in response to w.oliver.sby fromsouth,That is excellent. I would think that steps 2, 3 and 4 should do it without the rest. Just make sure step 2 is done on ALL of the devices, before go to step 3.

Apr 5, 2014 11:22 AM in response to w.oliver.sby ArinS,This will not work for me.
There's some entry that corrupts the keyboard shortcuts database.
So here's what I did:
- Remove ALL keyboard shortcuts. As you can see above, doing it via the phone was impossible. I had to do it on my MacBook.
- Turn on Documents & Data.
- I saw that there was nothing in the shortcuts.
- Turn them off & try to add new entries. Nothing worked.
- Back-up the phone. Wipe everything on it.
- Start fresh and immediately turn of Document & Data once logged in to iCloud. At this point shortcuts are working, I can add new ones.
- At one point I installed some apps that use Documents & Data; even though I have nothing in there turning it on somehow breaks all of the shortcuts local on the phone.
- Disable Documents & Data and reset all on icloud.com
- Reset the phone (home button and sleep button).
Working right now. If you see that this works for you, make sure Documents & Data is not turned on for each application that you install.

Apr 24, 2014 5:12 AM in response to ArinSby lve100,I reproduced the loss of all shortcuts on iPhone and iPad using iOs 7:
the loss is not really a loss it is just a hide. When you turn iCloud off then you get the shortcuts back. If you turn iCloud on you hide the function.
I still use the shortcuts intensively with the turned off iCloud until Apple corrects it.
