I can not figure out how to set up my finger print security

That is correct. Once you have entered the passcode, you have to enter it to get access to that settings are again. Click on Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Enter the passcode and that will allow you to enter that settings are to set up Touch ID.
I did enter a pass ode. When I go to settings, general,touch Id and passcode, I only get an option to enter a pass ode
Right! Set the passcode, then go back into settings, and you will see an option to set the Touch ID, trust me. 🙂
much old info out there. As in last reply here note that Touch ID is a top-level selection under settings. U cannot find it as second level under General.
You are correct. Unfortunately the fingerprint facility doesn't show at all no matter what I do.

The finger print is not where the instructions say they are. My iPhone 5s is just 1 day old.
