Macbook Pro full charged at 97 percent?
my macbook pro says it is fully chared and the light on the charger turned green. But the percentage shows only 97 percent? why?
pls help.

That's OK - my late 2011 shows the battery fully charged at only 96%. Batteries lose their power over a period of time. You'll never get to 100% as I suspect your machine is at least a couple of years old?

a year and a half. so yours never came back to a 100?
so there is still a chance for my battery to go back to a 100 percent?
Run the battery down to below 90% then reconnect the AC charger. It should then go all the way to 100%.
yes, mine gets back to 100% and it is 3 years old. Right now it is showing a 99% charge and it is fully charged. No need to worry. It never dips below 96% when fully charged. Eventually, as Clinton said, batteries lose their power over time. So for me, a 100% charge is really only 92%.

dont worry, it's normal behavior.
What didn't help? What happens is if you leave the AC charger connected the battery, and or the battery charging circuit, will drain the battery from 100% down to a level that the charging circuit will then start charging the battery back to 100%. This is totally normal and a design feature.
If you disconnect the AC charger so the system run just off the battery down to below 90% and then reconnect the AC charger the battery will then recharge to 100%.
From the time I made my first post, 7:15AM (My Time) until you replied with "That Actually Didn't Help" (7:17AM My Time), a difference of 2 minutes, there is NO WAY you could of let the battery drain down from 96% to below 90%. So why don't you give that a try before you dismiss my suggestion and state that it didn't help.

nope, just dont worry about it. I let mine drain to below 40%, and sometimes it gets to 100%, sometimes 97%. The battery is doing what is best for itself and is in no way faulty.
