View Sonic VX922 stopped working for Macs after power outage. Works for PC, Anyone know where to get help?

After a power outage last year had electricity from generator but View Sonic VX922 stopped working after power returned. Was using G4/350. Got a new monitor. Had a friend try it on his PC and it worked. Got a Pro(2012) and tried it on that and it did not work. Viewsonic suggestions did not work and the cost for them to fix it is way over the value. Had hoped to use it and G4 for a non-profit I'm with (South of Boston). Any suggestions of how or where to fix it?

Thank you.

Mac Pro (Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Also G4 running 10.5.8

Hello Babs40,

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your external display.

I found an article with steps to troubleshoot issues with displays. This article is for internal and external displays, so you can skip any steps referring to the internal display. I recommend reviewing the section titled "No video or no signal, image distortion, 'snow,' or flickering" in the article below. I recommend reviewing the full article, but the following steps specifically stands out to me for the situation you are experiencing:

Reset the system

You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
