Q: Why am I unable to save files to an external hard drive?

How is the drive formatted?

The external drive is probably partitioned and formatted for MS Windows with the NTFS file format (read only on a Mac). Use the apple Disk utility to format it suitable for either both Mac and MS Windows or Mac only.

If you are only going to use this on the Mac I would format it for the Mac file system. Also confirm you partition it with the GUID option for use with the Mac.

Yes, so, first backup the data to another drive, partiton, format, then restore.

In Disk Utility, select the DRIVE, select [Partition], then the Number of Partitons, then click [Options] and select G.U.I.D.

Hi! I using Paragon NTFS v11.1.263 to read/write NTFS disk. But after updated 10.9.2 and install dropbox, I couldn't write NTFS disk, only read. I don't know the real reason? updated 10.9.2 or dropbox.

Suggest you start a new thread but I would email Paragon support for their advice.
