Have you enabled Match on the device that you are listeing to iTunes Radio on?

iTunes Match must be enabled on the device to listen to iTunes Radio ad-free. Even then you will hear the occasional "you're listening to iTunes Radio."
I'm listening to the radio on the iMac that has my physical music on it. It was this machine that synced the library with iTunes, so I'm assuming this computer must be enabled?
In iTunes pull down the Store menu. So you see "Turn ON iTunes Match" or "Turn OFF iTunes Match?"
Holy cow Michael! My computer is asking if I want to turn Music match on. This explains the ads, but how on earth did it shut off? It will turn on again and hope I don't spend hours resyncing 😉
The scan should be relatively quick. Glad you got it sorted out.
That IS weird, if your music is already on your computer, then it won't have to sync again. Great that you solved your problem!🙂
