Automatically Find Photos Taken on This Date

Can anyone suggest the best way for getting my Mac to:

1. Automatically search a folder of images (mostly DNGs and jpegs) each day;
2. Identify all images taken on the same date in prior years; and
3. Email them to a specified address?

It seems like an Automator-type job, but I've never had any luck learning that system, no matter how many tries. I'd be really grateful for any help or suggestions.
