Q: track pad off after mavericks upgrade

after installing mavericks on my macbook, I am having issues controlling my cursor.  It jumps all over it will not allow me to

move in aroung the desktop 

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
