I have an Apple 10.5.8 and just purchased a Canon MX726 printer to use with my computer but I get a message saying the software is not supported. My computer skills are fairly modest; is an attempt to make this printer work with this computer doomed?

Hi,


Sadly Apple breaks every printer driver with every OSX version, with no good reason I know of, but Canon only has drivers for 10.6 & up..

Let's see if that option is viable for you.


At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac.


Then click on More Info>Hardware and report this upto but not including the Serial#...


Hardware Overview:


Model Name: iMac

Model Identifier: iMac7,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 4 MB
