My system is frozen on installing software update. The blue line has not moved for 6 hours. Is there a way to disconnect and restart my Mac?

Can anyone give me a suggestion how to restart my system if possible or stop the installing software update that has been idle for over 6 hours?

Mac Pro, iOS 7.0.5
