Hard drive replacement late 2011

Hi all. I need some advice on what to purchase. I've traded my brother an 09 imac for his late 11 macbook pro. Plus a little money to boot I might add. As I was getting a new iMac it was a good trade for me. I want to upgrade the hard drive seeing it is the smallest that apple put out at the time. I would like to go to a ssd for the speed but do not know if it is worth the money or just do a Hybrid. If the hybrid will give me the same speed then thats fine. How to I install all the apps on the ssd side of the hybrid but yet the content on the other? I'm confused by all of this and if anyone has a link to a good discussion about this or some advice it would be much appreciated. I need something of course that is compatible with this model. It is the last one that they made that is upgradeable I believe. Any links or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Just found you posting. Sorry no one responded.

If you can afford the SSD go with that. For $100 the SSHD is great.

Your Late 2011 MBP has a SATA III (6 Gbps) disk interface that will take full advantage of either an SSD or SSHD.

A Crucial SSD is a great choice. Here is what I have found on SSDs from multiple statements in this forum.

I recommend purchasing SSDs from Crucial.com or OWC (macsales.com). Their products are known to work well in Macs. The Samsung Pro series has also received positive reviews.

People have reported problems using the the Samsung EVO series, the Toshiba Q Series and the Kingston SSDNow V300 SSDs.
