Q: I JUST UPDATED I TUNES 2/25/2014, MY COMPUTER UPDATES SAYS I DO NOT NEED ANY UPDATES.  I HAVE A MACBOOK AIR 2.5 YRS OLD, DO I ALREADY HAVE THE PROTECTION FROM THE NEW HACKING THAT WAS DONE TO APPLE LAST WK, DO I STILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD IOS 10.9.2 ??

PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS FOR THE PROTECTION OF MY COMPUTER I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.  MY COMPUTER SAYS I NEED NO UPDATES.  PERHAPS IT IS ALREADY DONE SINCE I DOWNLOADED ITUNES 2/25/2014. 

 

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT OPERATING SYSTEM I ALREADY HAVE?

    I think your caps lock key is stuck.  That might cause you problems eventually.

     

    Apple Menu, About This Mac  will tell you the OS version, which should be 10.9.2 for all the latest fixes.

    TURN OFF CAPS LOCK.

    Look under the Apple menu and choose "About This Mac" to find out your system info.

    The most recent update was only for machines running 10.9.1.

    I am you local ER frontline,  However, I keep caps locked on because I am always in such a hurry. I used your info. and looked further into my computer and found in another area that I have a Lion and the upgrade was already done Mac Os X 10.7.5 which apparently protected my computer.
