Iphone car issue

When the car is started in the driveway, my iPhone in the house automatically switches to the car speaker. If I am using the phone, this is obviously a problem. Anyone know how to solve?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.6

This has happened to me as well and is expected behavior as your vehicle is in Bluetooth range. To keep this from happening, you will need to turn off Bluetooth while not in the car to avoid this behavior.

Thanks! I didn't know if turning off Bluetooth would cause other problems. Also, my (much younger) colleague told me that there is a button that is visible when this happens which allows me to switch from car back to phone. Old dogs have trouble with new tech! Thanks.

Msgundy,

There is an audio source button you can select which will allow you to select iPhone as the audio source. But you can only do this once you have answered the call. No worries as we all have adjustment periods. I am just glad I could help.
