Q: I would like to have a spreadsheet editing software for my new Template Numbers Pro but my operating system is 10.7.  Are there other editing software programs (less the 10.9) that can work with this app?

Hi,

I am looking for some editing software for my new Template Numbers Pro.  Numbers is 10.9, my computer is only 10.7.  What do you suggest?

Thanks,

Billieoh

PPC machines don't run 10.7. I've requested this thread be moved.  PPC is for pre-2006 Machines.

That is good to know.  Frankly I don't know what kind of machine I have.  I have a Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3 early 2008.

    Billie,

You will need to determine what version of Numbers the templates were designed in. Hopefully not Numbers 3, since you would have to upgrade your Operating system (if that's even possible). If Template Pro is Numbers 2.3 based, you can purchase iWork '09 on Amazon or eBay and you will be all set.

If it's the "Templates for Numbers Pro" on the Mac App Store then you need OSX 10.7 or later.  You'll need iWork '09 or later.

It looks as if you want to use the iOS version of the same templates then you will need the latest Numbers there.  And if you use the latest Numbers there and want to sync to the Mac, you'll need to have Mavericks and Numbers 3.

Templates for Numbers Pro is designed in Version 1.0 (1)  Will the iWork '09 work with it?

Numbers 1.0, known as Numbers '08, was the version included in iWork '08. Documents made and saved in Numbers '08 can be opened with Numbers '09, but I don't know if that applies to Numbers '08 templates.

If you want to email me one to test, I will try opening it with Numbers '09. You can get my address by clicking my name in blue. Please include Numbers Template in the subject line.

    Regards,

Thanks, but how would I send you one to open?  I cannot get into the suite to start anything.

It tells me that I need editing software to open any of the template choices.
