Email Password Changed Help!!

My iphone 5 was stolen so i changed my email's password; i got a new phone a iphone 5s when i click on mail on my new iphone i had to type my new password for my email since i had changed it. if the thief were to guess my passcode and try to check my mail will he need to type in the password.

(im still using the same apple id on my new iphone, my lost iphone had ios 7 )
