Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I have this table below. I would like to add a function to the Daily Meds Total column to make it automatically calculate the Meds per Date. I think it has something to do with the SUMIF function but I can't figure out how to make it sum for each day.

02/27/2014 3

This is working
SUMIF(A,"="&A,Meds)
But it is putting the total in very row not just the last row of the day.
If you are using Numbers 3 and column A is sorted, then this should work:
Formula in C2, copied down:
IF(A2=A3,"",SUMIF(A,A,B))

Never mind I see the problem. I was missing the "" in the code. That removed the 0s. Thanks again!

I'm sure you've seen that the "Numbers way" is often to have the data in one table and then the summary in another. That sometimes results in simpler formulas:
=SUMIF(Data::A,A,Data::B) in B2, copied down.
