Q: Why doesn't my touch ID work?

Every time I try to set it up it says failed and to try again. It won't let me even put my finger on the home button before it says failed. I completely erased and reset the phone and tried again, but it still does the same thing.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.6

my touch ID doesn't work, i have just bought an iphone5s and when i tried to add afinger print i have a messgae : Failed Unable to complete Touch ID setup.Please go back and try again, i have actually TRIED EVERYTHING,i have cleaned , did a complete restore with the laptop , a reset EVERYTHING and i still have the same msg , i don't enjoy my new phone and i can't buy a new one :/ please help . iphone5s IOS 8.4.1
