need to update mac

I am trying to sync my iphone and it is telling me I need to update up my mac to the OX S 10.6.8 version so that I can update my itunes to the 11.1.5 version I do not see where I get the 10.6.8 os x version

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Press the Apple button on the top-left of your screen, and select "Software Upvate". If that is not shown in the list of selections, goto "About This Mac" and then select "Software Update".
