There are a few of these (exact same: error 32, broken pipe) to be found

in a google search of 'mac os x error 32 broken pipe' with a few answers.

One of the suggestions, is to be sure the same version of Disk Utility was

used to create, save, and restore the disk image. However if you are up-

grading, there is a possibility that would not be the case, as it may not be

present if the computer were formatted & otherwise had D.U. used in HDD.

A few ideas in one place from 2007 appears to outline the possible cures;

surprisingly the cnet link does not have the same clutter as recent ones...

So, there are a few things to do about this error, to include a cause.

{Odd, the only direct Support Article reference I could find to Apple

Support page on this topic no longer exists & was unsearchable.}

Hopefully this helps somewhat.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
