I can't login to a web page -AARP- using my ID and password with Safari 6.1.2. The page doe not respond. However I can without any problem by using Firefox. I really don't want to switch between browsers. In Safari I accept cookies, I emptied the caches. I am not overly tech savvy, so I'm hoping someone here can advise.

there are some Web sites that don’t test their pages with Safari; AARP’s Web site might be one of them. Have you tried contacting AARP, to confirm with them if Safari 6.1.2 is supported by them?
Thanks, I have not, but I will. Seems then that I will be forced to used Firefox.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.
