can i make a blu ray disc with dvd pro 4

this is sort of related to my previous post:

DVD Studio pro 4 :

i see in the disc inspector that there are several options: single or dual layer, SD or HD, and red laser or blue laser;

If i choose the 'blue' setting, is that going to create a blu ray disc?

if so, do I choose HD or SD?

... then can i make a disc image (.img) which i will then be able to burn to the BR blank?

Yes, I know I will need a blu ray burner, but I don't want to invest in one if i'm going to have to buy a whole lot of new soft ware ....
