Apple TV unit has quit working, had a power failure and the unit when turned on unit would not reset time and date, what do I need to do??

There is a network issue. ATV can not connect to the internet to set the date and time.
This is common on networks such as: Guest Networks, Hotel LAN/WiFi, Un-secured networks.
For whatever reason, the Apple TV is unable to get the information it needs from the connecting router/modem device.
Make sure you're not on a Guest Network, and try plugging into your router directly with an Ethernet cable to see.
The router may also be blocking ports, in which case, you may want to see about opening the ports that Apple TV uses.
