Delete text messages

Hi,

I tried to get some space on both my iPhone and my iPad.

I deleted all my text messages, one by one...it took me ages.

When I go to settings > general > utilisation I can still see that my text messages uses 2,6gb of storage.

I looked everywhere and there is not way to totally delete them.
