iTunes keeps crashing since 11.1.5.5 upgrade. Why?

Since I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 last week, it crashes within seconds of opening. The error message says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The error report says this: AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 11.1.5.5 ModName: ***.dll ModVer: 7537.60.5.27 Offset: 000017d0

I'm using Windows XP. I've tried uninstalling iTunes, then reinstalling version 11.1.4 - same error. What is going wrong?

That should be Modname: w t f .dll

Well, after a lot of installing and uninstalling various versions, I downloaded iTunes 11.1.0 and that seems to be working. I can access my stuff again and sync my phone. I'll wait until a safer update comes out and be more wary from now on.
