Yes you can upgrade your RAM and your hard drive but not your processor.


I recently upgraded a friend's 2009 MBP with 2x2GB RAM for a total of 4GB and replaced his 250GB HDD with a 128GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD. Total cost was ~$160 for the SSD. I had extra RAM for him to use. He said afterwards that the upgrades make his MBP feel like a new Mac.


Crucial and OWC RAM are the favorites here. The SSDs that should be compatible are Crucial M500, OWC and Samsung.
