can MacBook Pro 9,2 use 16GB RAM

I just got a MacBook Pro 9,2 and am wondering if I can put 16GB of RAM in or will it only accept 8GB

MacBook Pro, OS 10.9.2

Upgrade Memory for Apple MacBook Pro to 8GB, or 16GB DDR3 1600MHz SDRAM

16 GB. Purchase it from one of the above two vendors, or Apple.
