How do you enable sustain on Garageband?

Hello everyone, I'm slightly new to the Macbook Pro. I bought the newest one couple days ago. I was recording "How to Build a Snowman" on a keyboard (with a pedal) through MIDI and the song came out great on Garageband. But now when I work on other songs, they're all half notes when the recording is finished, it's like I didn't even use the pedal at all. I have the 10.0.1 version of Garageband. =/

So, in my case, I had a sustain pedal for my keyboard. What I came to realize was that the sustain pedal wasn't working because I stepped on the pedal BEFORE the recording started. So when you're playing it, you're hearing the pedal, but the recording isn't catching the sustain.

So now what I do is I let the recording go for a little bit, then step on the pedal, then play my music. Hoped this helped! 🙂
