Some games cannot be played in full screen mode
For what it's worth, there were no mid-2012 13" that had discreet graphics. I'm not a gamer, but are you sure it's not a setting within whatever game?
That would be a setting within the game. Some games may not allow full screen. You should check in with the developer of the game.
